analysing 3 news companies

Huffington post Brexit Article

This news article is of the referendum results for brexit. This article has been taken from Huffingtonpost.co.uk. Huffington post is an online news company. They do not create any print forms of news therefore their audience is technological based. One thing that this company has done to cater toward their audience is adding social media links and tweets. This is done to make the article more interactive as the viewers want to be involved and have their own say other than just reading the article. They have also added in most recent questions on google that are about the EU. This is to show viewers what people want to know.

This article is not aimed towards a certain wing. It is more factual and independent towards its thoughts. They show data and try to give out information that is mutual between different political parties or whatever party they are writing about. This is different to other companies as they usually have a political party that they believe and agree most with.

This article also is in short sentences within the articles called listicles. This is great for an internet news company as it is easier to read. Especially for people that are scrolling on their phone. This helps draw attention to it and is quick to read.

Daily Mail

This form of news is a print. This newspaper is by the Daily Mail, which is a tabloid paper. This paper is showing Nigel Farage, (leader of the EU referendum) as he celebrates leaving the European Union. This paper is very pro brexit. We know this as it shows Nigel being happy and portrays leaving the EU in a good light just through the use of the image and the heading. This short title is also used to grab the reader’s attention. It is also short as it is a tabloid and tabloid customers are usually looking for short text to read. The subheading also shows brexit to be positive as it says “Overjoyed” this is telling the reader that the UK are happy about the decision to leave the European Union. The majority of space used on this page is big text and image. This is used by daily mail as their target audience is more intrigued by papers that have little amounts of text.

Good Morning Britain

Good morning Britain is a Television news provider on ITV. This news channel is less formal to others on TV, for example, BBC News. Good Morning Britain is presented by two hosts. This is very different to the other articles as they can both only be read. The channel is also very informal, referring to the prime minister as Dave, instead of formally addressing his full name. Another informal thing that this company do is the studio. The studio is very modern looking and looks a lot like a talk show room. Whereas the BBC News studio is very office like.
